"Queen Bee" Birthday

Another gorgeous birthday party in yellow!  Loralee of No Fuss Fabulous created this sweet birthday party for her daughter.  The colors are fresh and bright, with decorative details that carry the theme through in a subtle way.  You may have gathered by now that I really love kids parties with a sophisticated design that transends the ages.  This one does just that and I could definately see these ideas used in a baby shower or bridal shower.
Some of my favorite things from this party:
  • bees attached to hanging lanterns
  • beehive cake placed in HANGING grapevine wreath!
  • ADORABLE flower straws
  • sparkly crown name cards
  • flower and moss details on the dessert table
All these cute touches could be incorporated to so many party themes.  Love That!

A Charming Gray And Yellow Baby Shower

Another inspiring shower today featuring beautiful yellow flowers!  This time it's a baby shower designed by Jill and Kari of The Babs Blog.  Combining yellow with gray, and using wonderfully modern fabrics, these gals created a stunning event with bird cage centerpieces to-die-for!
I can't tell you enough how much I love all the bird cage floral arrangements.  It just goes to show that one interesting element used in mass can make such an impact.
More sweet details include the lovely cupcake decor, small favor bags at each place setting, and a very unique book stamping project for the baby.  To see all the information about this shower, please visit their post here

Citrus Bridal Shower

I was blown away when I saw the fresh creativity of this Citrus themed bridal shower hosted by "Mrs. Penguin" on Wedding Bee.com! Everything was done so simply and (mostly) economically, but with amazing touches. There was a small splurge on the fabulously modern citrus fabric, but the use of inexpensive coordinating paper, and serving pieces she already owns helped offset that.

The hostess served a buffet of "mini food bites" so no utensils were needed. Check here for some recipes and tips, including mini BLT's, sweet potato fries, mac-n-cheese in prociutto cups, and brownie bites with milk shots.  For the bar, she used the same fabric from the food buffet backdrop, now as a table cloth. There was a champagne bar (always a favorite of mine!) and the most unique and genius glass markers I think I've seen! She gives a 'how-to' on a post here.
The guests are sent home with a box of Lemonheads candies, of course! They are adorably wrapped in tissue(gives a sheer coverage), a strip of the fabric, and a yarn bow.

"Mrs. Penguin" was inspired by The Hostess with the Mostess' citrus shower, and I think she was definately the hostess with the mostess this day! ; ) Click on the links to see more inspiring photos.
