Pink & Yellow Spring Brunch

Kate of Studio LIME Design sent me these pics of a pretty brunch she hosted for mother's day.  The simple modern design would work perfectly for any ladies get-together and has some ideas that are easy to re-create.  I particularly like the pink and yellow color combo, and the recycled cans painted, tied with ribbon, and filled with flowers.  Read on for what Kate has to say about the brunch...
"I wanted to host a sweet and simple brunch for my mom and mother-in-law to honor them and show how much my husband and I appreciate all of the hard work, dedication, and selflessness they've displayed and modeled for us {new parents ourselves!} over the years.

My tablescape was inspired by the beautiful and soft springy colors that surround us at this time of the year. I used a pale yellow fabric to cover my place mats and some brighter pink and yellow fabrics/ribbons to cover the vases holding floral blooms to infuse a little more color to my table. A large lantern with candles was used to anchor the table.

At each mothers' place setting was a ceramic pitcher filled with a floral bouquet and a simple white frame holding a picture of her with her children from a long, long time ago. This was a special touch for each guest of honor, added to springy vibe of the table, and doubled as each mom's Mother's Day gift as well.

Each guest also had a mini menu tucked inside their brunch napkin listing the eats for the day. The hit item on the menu was a "Banana Nut French Toast," which couldn't have been more simple to make {tips on my blog}. And mimosas were served to kick off the brunch because what's brunch without mimosas?!?!

I also created a sweets bar using the sideboard in my dining room. I propped a fabric covered backdrop to add a pop of color and a twig tree with hanging crystals. On to the good part -- the desserts -- mini powdered doughnuts, sugar cookies with flower fondant toppers, and a pound cake with cream cheese frosting to top it all off. One of my favorite quotes, which explains the awesome responsibility we have as mothers so perfectly, was also added to the dessert spread."

Thanks for sharing the lovely brunch with us, Kate.  All these ideas can be used in bridal showers, birthdays, and baby showers as well!

Pink 'Girls Night In' For A Cause

I just love Ladies Nights, and when it's presented this lovely, AND for a great cause, it's all the better.  Once again Emily of White Room Events and Jennifer Sando worked together to share this beautiful party.  Emily hosted a ladies night for womens cancer awareness, and the styling of the event was nothing short of magical!
A gorgeous dessert table is full of pink treats and backed by a wall of fancy streamers
The seated table has an eclectic and slightly vintage look to it.  Various shade of pink in the flowers, table runner, and napkins make this table interesting to look at and a great place to linger after a meal.
What's a party without a photo booth area?!  More streamers are all that's needed to create a fun and whimsical backdrop for photos.  What a wonderful idea and great way to raise money for cancer.

This party would also be fantastic for bridal showers or milestone birthdays!

Stylish 30th Birthday Party

This is how you do "30" in style!  This lovely birthday luncheon was designed by Tori and Myka of Sitting in a Tree.  Held at a local restaurant, it just goes to show that you can still bring personality and charm into a commercial space.
A few stand-out features are the eye-catching striped napkins, the whimsical place mats, and the white vases embellished with "30" (you can do this with stickers).
A fun little detail are the chalk board invitations above, which are seen again in name "cards" on the tabletop.  A few balloons floating above the table add just the right amount of visual height to the space.
Such a lovely setting for any birthday or bridal shower!

Takeaway Tips:
  • A few simple, but eye catching details can "make" the party decor (striped napkins, graphic place mats).
  • Instead of tying up bundles of balloons, use them in a modern way by placing a single balloon in strategic locations.

Spring Celebration Shoot With DIY Details

I have such a pretty inspiration shoot to share with you today that's just right for a bridal shower, or girly birthday celebration.  This idea was designed and photographed by Lou of Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, and has some cute crafty details that are sure to inspire you!

Lou combined an eclectic mix of fabric patterns to create a table runner and napkins.  Sweet felt "puffy hearts" were sewn with a simple stitch and are a focal point throughout the display.  A variety of ribbons are used to tie around chairs, silverware, and centerpiece vases {recycled cans that have been painted}.
One of the most adorable features on the table is the place holders, made by sewing a monogram on a small piece of felt fabric, and tied around a painted egg cup using bakers twine.  Such a great touch that adds handmade charm to any occasion!

The dessert table does not disappoint as it utilizes a dresser and fashions a drawer into a flower "vase."  A banner hangs above, made of scrap fabric and bakers twine.  Doilies and more felt hearts are scattered across the table, and a mini bunting tops the cake.

Not only are the colors and flowers in this design gorgeous, but these are all ideas you can re-create for your own charming party!  Thanks Lou!

Ideas For A Ladies Luncheon {With Weddingish}

I definitely have Spring fever after putting together this Ladies Luncheon design featuring "fashionista" sugar cookies from Weddingish.  This would be perfect for a Bridal Shower, Birthday, or just-for-fun for the girls who love shopping and fashion.
I decided to put together boxed lunches using pretty storage boxes that can also double as favors along with the cookies.  I love to combine form with function when I can.
Each place is set with a ribbon tied box, bottled water, and napkins inserted into a bangle bracelet - another favor option!  Inside the box guests will find a wrapped sandwich, chips, and fruit displayed in a pretty way.  We also have the bagged cookies here which can be taken home for later, because we have an array available on our dessert table below.
You don't need an extravagant dessert display at every event.  This table features our themed cookies, available in shoes, purses, and dresses, and a couple of other treats round out the look.  We used hat boxes for a creative display in keeping with our theme, some flowers, and a fun art print.

You can be inspired by any item.  These cookies from Weddingish proved to be a great starting point for our design, and a delicious menu item as well!  Visit their site for more party items!

A Classic Tea Party

We're continuing our journey into Spring today with this lovely classic tea party sent in by Thetis of Little Sooti.  Little Sooti is the cutest online party shop and many of the items used in the party are from there.

This tea party was for a 10 year old's birthday, and I think it would also work for a mother-daughter tea party, or bridal shower.  The table is set with a beautiful hand-made runner, vintage tea cups & napkins, bottles for pink lemonade, and an assortment of sweet treats anyone would love.
Thestis wrapped the lemonade bottles and some flower vases with lace tape and doilies - a sweet detail that you can also do!  The eclectic mix of flowers placed in clusters down the table are the perfect centerpiece for this classic setting.
How about you?  Would you love to host your own tea party?
