Baby Shower Sneak Peek

I can't wait to share this unique baby shower I worked on this past weekend.  The design style was "Middle Eastern" to reflect the couple's love of travel and exotic treasures from that part of the world.  We also added in a pair of monkeys to reflect the fact that they are expecting twins, and mom calls them her "little monkeys."

Hello! Kitty

Charm Event Design always creates exciting and memorable events.  So when Patricia sent over this latest table for a Hello Kitty birthday, I knew it would be a great one to share.  The bright colors and kitty motif fit the theme perfectly while the sophisticated design and style appealed to the adults.
I know there are a lot of little girls out there who love a Hello Kitty party.  This is great inspiration!  See many more photos on their blog.

A Movie Theater Birthday {Featuring Godzilla}

I love the thoughtful creativity of this party sent to me by Lori of Littlebeane Boutique.  What party obsessed mom out there wouldn't shudder at the thought of creating a Godzilla themed birthday party?  Lori came up with a classy solution: a movie theater experience featuring a Godzilla movie (in her home theater) and 'concession stand.'   She has her own etsy shop and created all the printable paper items, including my favorite piece - the filmstrip on the backdrop with photos of her son on it. 

Lot's of candy as well as cookies from Lori's Place, and chocolatey confections from Sweet Celebrations, were displayed.  Visit Lori's blog to see more of this fun 'movie' party.

Little Red Riding Hood Birthday

I received this Little Red Riding Hood party from Luiza in Brazil.  The theme is pretty unique, and she designed it beautifully with green streamers overhead to mimic the forest, an eye-catching red backdrop, and cute details like the "grass" runner, wolf printables, and food served from baskets.  You can see more on her blog, Fantastico Oficio.  It's written in Portuguese, but a picture is worth a thousand words!

Teacup Centerpiece {DIY}

Here's an easy DIY centerpiece idea from Kelly Porter of Porter House Designs.  She uses simple teacups, adds some adhesive jewels to the design, and inserts roses in a minimalistic, modern way(inserted into floral foam).  Cover the floral foam with some moss and you have a lovely centerpiece for Birthdays, or Showers! 

'Flying High' Boy's Birthday Party

What's in the drinking water down under?  Because it(Australia) is home to some of the most fabulous party girls/stylists.  Case in point, Jordan of Polkadot Prints just hosted her son's 2nd birthday party and created the cutest table for it.  Get a load of that back drop, the cloud lollies, and the cutest favor boxes & cartons!  In fact she and I have been working together this past month: I provided a custom inspiration board for her (see here), and she designed the awesome printable labels for a baby shower I'm styling this weekend.  She's been wonderful to work with (even with last minute changes) and has created some fun designs I can't wait to share!  In the mean time, visit her post for more about this gorgeous party.

Lumberjack Chic!

Thanks to Christi at P is for Party for introducing me to this amazing party.  This was a couples shower designed by Trish of Frilly Milly Events and she makes gingham and burlap look like Versace!   I'm a sucker for a stylish buffet table, and this one takes the cake with it's corn-on-a-cob skewers, and individual baked bean jars.  This just makes me want to say 'YeHaaaa', or maybe 'Tim-ber!'?

Classic Tea Party Birthday

I've been researching for months, inspiration for my own Petite Celebrations parties.  One of my favorites that captures the feeling perfectly is this sweet Tea Party birthday from Such Pretty Things.  Jessica designed this tea party with all the classic details - pretty dainty desserts, petite floral prints, lacy doilies, and a soft feminine color palette.

She also had some fun crafts for the girls to do.  They decorated party hats and strung candy and cookie bracelets.  Jessica made homemade cookies to string, but I think the store-bought flower cookies with the hole in the middle would work just as well.  I love this tea party, and can't wait to book my own Petite Celebrations version!

Travel Themed Party

I love the "traveling" theme.  It works so well for a couples shower, birthday, farewell party, or even graduation.  You can inject some fun and easy-to-find details for this theme, as seen above in this wedding shot by Stephanie Williams Photography. 

The "flying" plane with banner is a fantastic way to highlight the dessert table.  Of course suitcases are used to add height as well as placed open to hold an array of sweets.  You can find metal model airplanes at places like Ross, HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby.  Vintage-style mini suitcases can be found online, or the real deal can be found in thrift stores.

Accent the tables with signs that say, "I left my heart in (city)," and use maps to highlight favorite destinations.  Have guests write notes for the occasion on the back of post cards and place them inside a small suitcase, to be read later by the guest of honor.

White and blue poms or lanterns can be hung to mimic the sky and clouds, and favors are wrapped up to look like little postal packages.

I'm sure you can think of other great options for the traveling theme, but this gorgeous celebration is a great place to start!  

French Tea Time For The Ladies

If this is how Glory of Glorious Treats, spends her afternoon with a friend, don't you want to be her friend?  Glory started with an idea for a grown-up "tea party" she wanted to create.  She pulled out her beautiful collection of cake stands and filled them with both homemade and store-bought treats.  Adding some pretty hanging ribbon, coordinating label tags, and French decorative touches brought her vision to life as she sat sipping iced coffee with a girl friend in the perfect setting.

Real Party Showcase

Ready for this week's Real Party Showcase?  There are some incredible and inspiring details so be sure and visit each one for more information.

First up is this Butterfly Tea Party hosted by Andrea of Sweet Bambinos.  Andrea goes all out when creating a party (remember this Candyland birthday?), and provides so many interesting touches.  I think this birthday party is so sweet and well executed - it would even be suitable for a bridal luncheon. 

If you want to indulge the kids in some summertime fun, try a Popsicle party.  The ladies of Sheek Shindigs put together an afternoon of popsicles, snacks, and backyard fun, begining with some cute popsicle invitations.   I love all the crafty paper details they added with snack packs and favors!

This next ice cream-pool party was sent in by Tricia Pinnock.  She used printables from Love the Day and created a delicious display of sundae accompaniments.  I love the colored cones that match the printed decor!

This next party is a Cookies & Milk baby shower hosted by Carey of  With Joy.  I love the rustic-vintage feel of this party with the milk bottles & pretty tags, and hanging pom streamers.  She also used babies breath in an interesting way - as the main flower instead of just filler.  Check out her post to see the very cool arrangement using an old mixer!

Finally, doesn't this Busy as a Bee party from Christie of Three Pixie Lane make you want to have a sunny yellow backyard picnic?  This is just so inviting with it's checked table cloth, pretty daisies in a jar, paper flower brownie toppers, and bee topped cupcakes.  Perfect for a relaxing day on the lawn. 

Carnival Candy Buffet

Isn't this table gorgeous!  The wonderful talent behind it is Sandra Downie of Sandra Downie Event Design in Connecticut.  I had the pleasure of being introduced to Sandra and her work, via Kori of Paper & Pigtails, this week.  Kori had designed some printables for Sandra's tables and was impressed by what she saw in the final display.  I can see why!  This is just one example of Sandra's creative and elegant work.  There's more on her website that you should definately check out.  Don't miss the green and black Damask table, or the Vintage Romance, or the Crystal-inspired table, or the....oh, just go see for yourself.  You'll be swooning!

Boy's Campout Party

If you have a son who loves the great outdoors then this is the party for you.  Lisa of Moore Minutes has created another great party full of details and an Amazing setting.  The great American camp site has never looked so inviting!

Lisa set up camp with a dining area, gift area, and a S'mores area.  The gifts were of course a hand made teepee that any kid is sure to love, and other were gifts wrapped in camoflage.  She topped off the area with a banner and balloons, and served up hot chocolate and trail mix in perfect style.

 

The piece de resistance is the S'mores bar.  Four sizes of marshmallows, 2 types of chocolate, and a variety of other s'mores treats were displayed for all to enjoy.  Whether you do something like this in the forest or in your own back yard, Lisa has certainly given you some great ideas.  Visit her blog to see even more pictures and details of this rustic birthday celebration.
