Pick-Your-Potato Bar

This Spud Bar makes me so happy - 1) I never met a potato I didn't love, and 2) the reference to the 1950's "sputnik" is just so genius and creative!  Designed by Botanica Florals, this potato bar includes everything: mashed potatoes, french fries, tater tots, potato wedges, potato skins, baked potatoes, and of course all the toppings to go with them. 

The fun "futuristic" labels for each item are a great touch too.  I am seriously jonesing for a potato now!

This table display would be so great for any occasion, but especially for a males birthday or bachelor party, game day, or even Father's day.

Takeaway Tip:

This bar is particularly well suited to convenience foods.  No need to hassle with recipes, peeling or chopping here.  Just buy frozen or pre-made items and serve it up in style!

"Batter Up" Baseball Party

I have a great classic party theme to share with you today, from Charm Event Design.  This baseball themed party was actually a baby shower but of course it would be any little boy's (or big boy's) dream birthday as well.  

I love the vintage feel of the food labels and signage, and the ticket-style invitations set the mood in advance.  The creativity shown in this party makes me swoon: the baseball base for the pennant labels, the scoreboard centerpiece for the dessert table, and the tabletop centerpiece "diamonds" are fantastic!   And no baseball themed party would be complete without peanuts, apple jacks, and classic coke.  Simply amazing!

Football Party

Football Party Printables {Superbowl Inspiration}

Superbowl is right around the corner and if you're like me, you've been a football widow for the past couple of weekends in preperation for it!  This party printable collection from Shindig Parties to Go is a fabulous way to host a stylish Superbowl party (or any football themed birthday party) with customizable color choices (how cool is that?!).

You can be inspired by these styling ideas Amanda incorporated when she used the collection for a recent birthday celebration.  I think Superbowl is all about the savory "man food" and you could easily substitute in hot wings, subs, or mini sliders for the desserts shown here.  You can also replace the little boy's name, Chap, with the word "Champ" or your team name.

Lumberjack Chic!

Thanks to Christi at P is for Party for introducing me to this amazing party.  This was a couples shower designed by Trish of Frilly Milly Events and she makes gingham and burlap look like Versace!   I'm a sucker for a stylish buffet table, and this one takes the cake with it's corn-on-a-cob skewers, and individual baked bean jars.  This just makes me want to say 'YeHaaaa', or maybe 'Tim-ber!'?

Boy's Campout Party

If you have a son who loves the great outdoors then this is the party for you.  Lisa of Moore Minutes has created another great party full of details and an Amazing setting.  The great American camp site has never looked so inviting!

Lisa set up camp with a dining area, gift area, and a S'mores area.  The gifts were of course a hand made teepee that any kid is sure to love, and other were gifts wrapped in camoflage.  She topped off the area with a banner and balloons, and served up hot chocolate and trail mix in perfect style.

 

The piece de resistance is the S'mores bar.  Four sizes of marshmallows, 2 types of chocolate, and a variety of other s'mores treats were displayed for all to enjoy.  Whether you do something like this in the forest or in your own back yard, Lisa has certainly given you some great ideas.  Visit her blog to see even more pictures and details of this rustic birthday celebration.

Chic Bistro Style

I am so excited to share this incredible table design by Carter & Cook Event Company!  This was initially created for a design challenge hosted by Utterly Engaged, and has a Modern Craft feel with neutral tones.  The details are simple and chic, and easy to recreate:

Small parchment-lined cardboard boxes were filled with a variety of cheeses and bread, along with custom labels attached to the beer bottles. 

Brown craft paper is used for a runner on top of a linen table cloth.  More texture is added through the addition of a gauze 'runner' atop the craft paper.

The paper flowers made from old books are a great alternative to large voluminous flower arrangements.  And the menu cards are tucked into a small paper bag....so clever!

Of course, one can't help but notice the fantastic table-front design...or should I say 'art piece'?  Who knew cupcake liners could look so cool?!  The ladies just attached several sizes of liners onto the linen using push pins.  Some liners were spray painted tan to add interest.  The result is a beautifully textured look!    

Happy Father's Day {Golf Party}

There are so many themes for Father's Day celebrations - fishing, tools, sports, business/ties, etc.  A Golf Theme is very traditional and pretty easy to pull off with some golf balls, tees, and a little greenery.  I thought I'd share some fun inspiration from other party peeps around the web.  

Stephanie of Couture Parties designed this stylish party with gorgeous 'golf ball' flower poms and lots of green moss mats, and small lucy balls.  

Hostess With The Mostess, Jenn, created this classic table setting with a fabulous tiered "golf course" and golf tee place markers.

Bring the fun to your food by adding a golf tee drink marker, and 'putting green' cupcakes.

Easy ideas you can pull together quickly!  Celebrate your dad in style!

Sophisticated Baseball Theme

I think birthday inspiration for men may be one of the least represented genres in the party blogosphere.  Fortunately, I found one you can add to your ideas file if you happen to have a baseball lover.   Thanks to Amorology, who created this classy baseball themed wedding that is perfect for a gentleman's birthday celebration.

Create anticipation with "ticket" invitations, and decorate your party space with penants, baseballs, and peanuts!  Have bats and balls available for guests to write on{well-wishes to the birthday guy}.  Display treats in a vendor-style box/tray, and design a couple of coordinating centerpieces using baseballs.

I so love the idea of the "hey, batter, batter" favor box filled with pancake batter!  These ideas would also work well for Father's Day, coming up soon!
